What Happens When You Walk Through Your Day as a Soul, Not Just a Body
Share
You walked out the door this morning. But did you walk out as a body—or as a soul?
Most of us don't even think about it. We grab our keys, check the time, and go. We become legs, steps, schedules. A body in motion, moving through the day on autopilot. And somewhere between the front door and the first interaction, we forget the most important thing: we are souls. And so is every single person we meet.
I know this because I almost forgot it too.
The Walk That Changed Everything
I love movement. Walking is one of my favorite parts of being alive—the rhythm of it, the way the body moves through space, the way the world opens up when you're on foot. It's one of the simplest, most grounding practices I know.
But the other day, I caught myself doing something. I was walking—just walking. Legs moving, mind racing, to-do list running on repeat. I was fully in my body and completely disconnected from my soul. Just a human getting from A to B.
And then I remembered.
I'm not just a body. I'm a soul in a body. And so is the woman I just passed. And the man at the crosswalk. And the barista, and the neighbor, and the stranger scrolling her phone on the bench. All of us — souls! Walking around in bodies. Mostly forgetting.
The moment I shifted that lens - the moment I started seeing everyone as a soul instead of just a body - my entire walk changed. The energy changed. The day changed.
What Does It Mean to Live as a Soul?
Living as a soul doesn't mean floating above reality or disconnecting from the physical world. It actually means the opposite—it means being more present, not less. More aware. More connected. More alive.
When you walk through your day as a soul, you start to notice things differently. You feel the energy of your interactions instead of just hearing the words. You sense when something is nourishing you and when something is draining you. You begin to feel the difference between spending your energy and investing it.
Spending your energy looks like going through the motions, pouring yourself into things that leave you empty, running on autopilot until you crash. Investing your energy looks like choosing what aligns with you, being present in your interactions, and letting your soul lead instead of your schedule.
That's the shift. And it's available to you right now—not after a retreat, not after a course, not after you "figure yourself out." Right now. Today. On your next walk.
Why We Forget
We forget because the physical world is loud. It's designed to pull us into doing, rushing, achieving, performing. The body has places to go and things to get done. And that's fine—that's part of being human. We're here to be in a body. We're here to love the body, move the body, live fully in the physical experience.
But we're not only a body. And when we live as though we are - when we forget the soul underneath - everything starts to feel "off." We feel disconnected but can't explain why. We feel exhausted even when we've rested. We interact with people but don't feel truly connected.
That's not a productivity problem. That's not a mindset problem. That's a soul problem. You've forgotten who you are.
The Practice: Walk as a Soul Today
Here's what I want you to try. It takes five seconds and it can shift your entire day.
The next time you walk out your door—pause. Just for a breath. And remind yourself: I am a soul. I'm about to walk through this day as a soul.
Then walk. And as you move through your day, look at the people you encounter - really look at them - and remind yourself: they are souls, they are energy, too. The cashier. The colleague. The person who cut you off in traffic. All souls. All carrying something. All doing their best.
Notice what changes. Notice how you listen differently. How you respond differently. How your energy feels at the end of the day compared to a day when you moved through it on autopilot.
You might be surprised. You might find that you feel more energized, not less. More connected, not less. More like you - the real you - than you have in a long time.
That's the difference between spending your energy and investing it. When you live as a soul, your energy works for you instead of just getting used up.
This Is What I Help Women See
This practice - seeing yourself and others as energy, as souls - is at the heart of everything I do at FreakyHealer. It's the foundation of the Energetic Profile work, the Energy Sessions, and every book, journal, and program I've ever created.
When you understand your Energetic Profile - the unique blueprint of your soul's energy - you stop living on autopilot. You start making decisions from alignment instead of obligation. You start showing up as you instead of as the version of you the world expects.
